  • Overview:

    This is a temporary position.

     

    The City of Boston’s Election Department is seeking individuals to serve as Listing Officers beginning in May and ending in August.

     

    Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

     

    Under the supervision and direction of the Election Department Staff, the Listing Officers will go door to door in neighborhoods throughout the City to complete the Annual Listing of Residents which is required by Massachusetts General Laws.

    Responsibilities:

    • All Listing Officers will go door-to-door and training will be provided.
    • Performs related work as required.

    Position requires considerable walking, as well as stair climbing. 

     

    These are outdoor positions during the summer months.

    Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

    • Ability to learn computer skills; ability to prioritize assignments and organize work; ability to work with minimal supervision when needed; ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment; ability to provide good customer service and represent the department in a professional manner
    • Strong verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

    Terms:

     

    Hourly Rate: $12/hour

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM

    Duration: May - August
