    This is a provision appointment. 

     

    Brief job description (essential function of the job):

     

    Under the general supervision of an administrative employee of a higher grade, manages accounts payable processes for the City.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervises and plans, directs and reviews the work of clerical personnel.  Participates in developing performance measures and goals. 
    • Develops and maintains interdepartmental lines of communication.
    • Ensures effective resolution of problems.  Supervises the maintenance of records.
    • Manages match reporting and coordinates match except resolution.
    • Manages the pay cycle.
    • Coordinates tasks to manage customer service relationships. 
    • Manages Account Payable system processes. 
    • Performs more complex system transactions and related business processes.
    • Interprets and ensures adherence to all approved rules and regulations.
    • Writes business procedures. 
    • Prepares both oral and written presentations.
    • Provides input and prepares financial and statistical reports
    • Performs related duties as requried.

    Assists in the planning and developing of citywide training and employee development for accounts payable and procurement functions.

    Organizes and participates in testing and implementing account payable and procurement system modifications and upgrades. 

     

    Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

    A minimum of three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in the field of office or business administration or accounting.

    Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel strongly preferred.

    Experience with PeopleSoft, Inc. applications preferred.
