  • Overview:

    Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

     

    Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, monitors and tracks City departments spending on goods and services with small, local, minority and women owned businesses.

    Responsibilities:

    • Complies reports on such spending as needed.
    • Tracks and maintains data required for future City disparity studies.
    • Helps City departments develop annual plans to increase spending with City-certified vendors.
    • Assists the Construction Unit in the preparation of its reports.
    • Acts as department liaison to the Department of Innovation and Technology Office (DoIT).
    • Performs related work as required.

    Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

    • Applicants must have at least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, administrative, managerial or professional experience in the field of office or business administration.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred and may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of research techniques and procedures, of accounting procedures and database management. 
    • Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office.
    • Knowledge of BAIS Financial and other City utilized software and hardware preferred.
    • Ability to exercise good judgement and focus on detail as required by the job. 

    Boston Residency Required
