  • Overview:

    THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION.

     

    The City of Boston’s Election Department is seeking energetic individuals to serve as Listing Officers beginning in May and ending in late August.

     

    Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

     

    Under the supervision and direction of the Election Department Staff, the Listing Officers will go door to door in neighborhoods throughout the City to complete the Annual Listing of Residents which is required by Massachusetts General Laws. These are temporary positions based on work volume within the department.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • All Listing Officers will go door-to-door and training will be provided.
    • Performs related work as required.

     

    Position requires considerable walking, as well as occasional stair climbing. 

     

    These are outdoor positions during the summer months.

     

    Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

    • Ability to learn computer skills, ability to prioritize assignments, organizations, professionalism, strong verbal communication, ability to work with minimal supervision when needed, ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
    • Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
    • Ability to exercise good judgement and focus on detail as required by the job.

     

     

    BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED

    Terms:

     

    Hours of work will be 9 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Compensation will be $11.00 per hour, paid biweekly.

      

    Must be willing to work assigned hours. These are temporary positions based on work volume within the department.
