    This is a temporary, summer only position.

     

    Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

     

    Reporting to the Recreation Program Manager or his/her designee, the Boston Neighborhood Basketball League (BNBL) Site Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the summer basketball league is operating at designated assigned site(s).

    Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    1. Recruit teams for BNBL site. Each site should have a minimum of six (6) teams.
    2. Collect coaches' registration forms, team rosters and birth certificates for the league.
    3. Responsible for creating the season schedule for the site and ensure information is communicated in a timely manner to all registered teams, Regional Supervisor and BNBL Director. Site Coordinators may be asked to call coaches to ensure that teams are on time for their games.
    4. Responsible for updating the Regional Supervisor if he/she will be absent.
    5. Ensure that all staff, i.e. scorekeepers, timekeepers, and game officials are present and ready to go at the start of the game. The Site Coordinator is required to ensure all BNBL support staff and equipment are present and ready to go by game time. Equipment and staff includes, but are not limited to, a BNBL banner, scorers, table and chairs, scoreboard, and time clock at all games.
    6. Site Coordinators should be in uniform, and ensure that referees and teams are in uniform as well.
    7. Implement and enforce all BNBL Rules and Regulations.
    8. Process payroll accurately and promptly to ensure that all BNBL employees are paid promptly.
    9. The Site Coordinator will also be called upon to distribute notices to coaches and players at his/her site. These notices may include scheduling changes, upcoming BCYF events/opportunities, or BNBL news.
    10. The Site Coordinator is responsible for reporting any issues/concerns/questions to his/her Regional Supervisor.
    11. Ensure the safety of all participants in the league.
    12. Performs related work as required.

    Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

     

    • Must be flexible and able to function well in a team oriented environment.
    • Previous BNBL experience preferred.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on details as required by the program.

    Must be able to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sexual Offender Record Information (SORI) checks.

     

    BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED

     

    Terms:

    Dates of Employment: July 9, 2018- August 31, 2018

    Hourly Rate: $11.00

    Hours Per Week: Up to 25 hours per week
