Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):
The Chief Financial Officer, Collector-Treasurer and Director of Administration and Finance of the City of Boston is responsible for all aspects of financial management for the City of Boston. Serves as Chief of the Administration and Finance Cabinet, overseeing the City’s human and financial resources. The Chief Financial Officer and Collector Treasurer is a top, policy driving, executive level position for the City of Boston, serving as a Cabinet Chief, and is appointed by the Mayor. Responsible for supporting the long term growth and stability of the City through sound fiscal stewardship and results driven management of the City’s human and financial resources. In collaboration with other City departments, implements the Mayor’s strategic goals, increases organizational performance and manages the City’s overall fiscal health.
